Tinola is the best comfort food when you are feeling sick or just want a warm and comforting soup. With a prominent ginger flavor, this soup is especially delicious and soothing on your throat. I love it when it’s cold outside. In the Philippines, tinola is an everyday dish since it is easy to make and doesn’t require special ingredients. You might already have most of the ingredients on hand!

Another reason why I love making this dish is because it’s easy to just set it and forget it. After prepping the meat and veggies you just wait while the soup low boils until ready. During this time you can clean up or do other things around the house. Just don’t forget to make your rice while the soup is cooking!
